The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) expressed gratitude to Sens. Jerry Moran (R-KS), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), Pete Ricketts (R-NE), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), and Joni Ernst (R-IA) for reintroducing the Farm to Fly Act in the Senate.

The Farm to Fly Act aims to accelerate the production and development of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) by leveraging existing USDA programs. It will help create new markets for U.S. farmers by promoting the use of agricultural products for SAF production and establishing a unified SAF definition.

“RFA supports the Farm to Fly Act and appreciates the bipartisan efforts of these senators to advance this critical legislation that ensures clarity and stability in SAF development from U.S. crops,” said RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper.

Key Goals of the Farm to Fly Act:

  1. Expanding Markets for Farmers – The bill will open new opportunities for U.S. farmers by promoting SAF.
  2. Establishing a Unified SAF Standard – Using the GREET model to evaluate carbon emissions.
  3. Enhancing Collaboration – Strengthening cooperation between USDA and private stakeholders.
