In September, the US exported 77,835 tonnes of dried distillers grains (DDGS) to the EU, where the main buyers were Ireland and Spain, according to data compiled by the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) earlier this month.

This marked an increase of 11% compared to the previous month.

Overall US DDGS exports declined 11% in September to 877,745 tonnes. About half of this volume was shipped to Mexico, Vietnam and South Korea. In the first nine months of the year, exports were just above the year-ago level at 8.59 million tonnes.

US ethanol exports recorded a 30% jump to 100.4 million gallons (380.1 million litres) in September, with Canada accounting for 42% of this.

In Europe, the Netherlands bought 13.8 million gallons, a jump of 475%, and the UK boosted its purchases to 6.9 million gallons from minimal levels.
