One of the largest consumer food and beverage companies in the Philippines, Universal Robina Corp (URC), is adding to its offering two brands of rubbing alcohol as demand for hygiene and sanitation products is rising.
The company’s Agro-Industrial & Commodities Division will launch the Shield+ product in December, while the distribution of BioSure has already started.
The alcohol for the new products will be supplied by the URC La Carlota Distillery in the province of Negros Occidental, which is part of URC’s Sugar and Renewables (SURE) business. URC La Carlota has an integrated sugar mill and ethanol distillery complex. The raw material it relies on is sugarcane.
