US exports of dried distillers grains (DDGS) to Vietnam in June rose by 37% to a seven-month high, and the country jumped to second position in the list of top export destinations, the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) announced, citing government data.
Vietnam got 125,523 tonnes of US DDGS in the month, or 37,360 tonnes less than the leader Mexico, where sales were down by 29% from May 2019. The top three was rounded out by South Korea which received 114,564 tonnes of US DDGS in June. Indonesia followed with 82,334 tonnes.
Total US DDGS exports in the first half of 2019 reached 5.35 million tonnes, down by 5% year-on-year, while in June alone these stood at 962,592 tonnes.
US ethanol exports in June went up by 29% from May to 128.4 million gallons (486 million litres). Canada, Brazil and India were the main destinations. South Korea and Colombia ranked fourth and fifth with 6.8 million gallons each.
